Cougar Reading- Next week we will explore "cause" and "effect" as we determine what is happening (cause) and why (effect) it is happening. We will read two humorous stories about a boy named Jimmy and a boa constrictor as we practice this important comprehension skill.
Spelling- we will study word the suffixes "er" and "est" in class
ELA- Last week we began a new science unit, Plants & Animals. We studied how plants grow and identified various plant habitats. This week we will review vocabulary words and take a multiple choice test. We will also classify animals as mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish as we examine the habitats of each. A review of adjectives and identifying main ideas and supporting details using non-fiction text will also take place this week.
Math- We are about to embark on our 15th math topic this school year. We will learn about measurement and will learn how to measure using non-standard units, inches, feet, yards, meter, centimeters, and millimeters. Lots of hands on learning will be happening this week and it's going to be a blast!
