Objectives, Topics and Themes for the week of May 6-10

Cougar Reading- This week we will participate in an author study of Marc Brown as we identify story elements and character traits in Arthur stories.

Reading- Small group reading will end by Wednesday, May 8th, to allow me to conduct end of the year benchmarking for some students. In whole group reading we will continue to read stories that go along with our Economics theme.

Spelling-  Our final spelling list for the school year will come on Monday the 6th.

Math- We will step up to third grade this week as the skills of multiplication, division, and fractions are introduced to the students this week.

Social Studies- We will learn the meanings of the words: goods, services, producers, consumers, barter and trade this week as we delve deeper into our unit on Economics.

Writing- We will continue to write memoirs from our year in second grade.
